The new Claret Jug Trophy, has kindly been donated by Colin Gundersen for the new ‘Fastest Lap’ championship. ‘The Colin Gundersen Trophy for the Class Fastest Race Lap at Pembrey. Colin won the Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship in 1992. All Registered competitors for the WSSCC are eligible for the Colin Gundersen Memorial Trophy. Competitors who are noted in the official race results as setting the fastest lap in their class will score points as follows – Scoring is by means of comparing a competitors race fastest lap with the lap record for that class (Class lap records starting from 2012). A fastest lap that equals the current Class lap record will score 100 points. Fastest laps that are slower than the current Class lap record will score less than 100 points, by the amount the fastest lap is slower than the current Class lap record.
Fastest laps that are faster than the current Class lap record will score more than 100 points, by the amount the fastest lap is fastest than the current Class lap record. The competitor with the most points at the end of the year will win the trophy. All WSSCC championship races at Pembrey will count. Full Regulations will appear in the 2016 Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship, when they are issued.
