Welsh drivers scoop up the Silverwear at Silverstone!

Friday 23rd May - Qualifying news

3 of Wales’ top young drivers, Seb Morris, Andy Meyrick, and Jake Rattenbury, were in action at Silverstone on the weekend.

Morris, competing in the Formula Renault NEC (North European Cup) with the Fortec team, got his weekend off to a good start on Friday by qualifying 5^th for Saturday afternoons race and then taking pole for Sunday mornings race! Also on Friday, Jake Rattenbury and his team-mate Jan van Uystel driving a Lamborghini Galllardo were 2^nd fastest in their class for Saturdays’ 1 hour Lamborghini Trophy race.

Andy Meyrick, driving the Bentley Continental GT3 car for the works Msport Bentley team, was working his way through the teams’ free practice schedule with his team-mates Guy Smith and Stephen Kane.

N. B It was good to see Cardiff's Julian Westwood, now almost a veteran having first waived the Welsh flag in the early 1990s, is still cutting it in top class racing. Julian took a 3rd in the GTR Class with the Team Parker Audi R8.
