TOM PRYCE MEMORIAL TRUST FUND APPEAL

Tom_Pryce.jpg (22376 bytes)

30 years after his untimely death in the South African Grand Prix at Kyalami in 1977, with the assistance of the Rhuthun (Ruthin) town council, a Trust Fund has been set up to assist  in honouring Tom Pryce on this the 30th anniversary. They seek assistance in raising funds to see this venture reach fruition in Tom’s hometown in Rhuthun (Ruthin) in Wales.

wpe54.jpg (892 bytes)& Updated! The position as reported to the November 2007 meeting of the Town Council was as follows:              Members were given a verbal update from Cllr. Murray Bragg. A contribution is awaited from Rhuthun Rotary Club and there will be a delay as regards bollards / parking on the proposed piece of land. Awaiting Mr David Richards to arrange a date for the Trustees to meet. Just to clarify - Denbighshire County Council own a small triangular piece of land at the junction of Clwyd Street and Upper Clwyd Street on which it is proposed to erect a suitable memorial. We await their confirmation that they have adopted the land - parking restrictions will then need to be discussed. A meeting with Mr David Richards, as Chairman of the Trustees, is being arranged. As you probably know from the Press he was involved in an accident recently - however, it is hoped that a meeting will take place within the next month or so. The Trust Fund currently stands at a figure of 4,978.00 and there is nothing further than can be done until the Trustees have met to discuss the way forward. Sincerely Dafydd Williams Clerc y Dref / Town Clerk / Ruthin Town Council
