With the car only completed on Sunday afternoon it was the first time for the wheels to turn on a race track and after warming the engine Hywel ventured out for a series of system tests before turning in some quicker laps as he sought to bed the car in. Harry his father said 'It was the first time this car has run in this configuration, as it had a Mercedes engine before. We still have a lot of time to go in the test, but its good to have the car running'   Harry and Hywel were helped by their friend Eddie Davies, whose son Ashley will be doing the BARC Renault Championship after buying Hywels Championship winning car. ( Eddie Davies runs a Hywels local Karting track in North Wales). Hywel was smiling as he got out from the car after his first run, and was later able to lap within a few seconds of the National Class pacesetter , despite having his Neil Brown tuned engine set to its lowest power setting.

I didn't do much last year except for the Renault Winter series, and that went well, so we going to see how Formula 3 goes" Andy was orginally from Swansea but now lives near Chester.

Donington FF Test is fogged off

Alex Jones the 3rd of the North Wales young chargers, had an abortive day at Donington Park were he should have been testing but freezing fog and ice in the pit lane meant they couldn't go out. After waiting around until mid-day the team decided nothing to be gained, so we're back home thinking about the next test - Oulton Park next Tuesday. Let's hope we get better weather there! regards Audrey Jones
