Hwyel increases his title lead after Oulton Park win

Hwyel Lloyd increased his lead in the 2007 BARC Formula Renault Championship by winning round 4 after a storming performance at Oulton Park on Saturday. After doing TV slots for BBC Wales TV & S4C, Lloyd took a 1 point lead to the spectacular Cheshire circuit and was 3^rd fastest in the damp practice session, tucking into 3^rd place as the field streamed down to the Island hairpin for the first time. However he snatched the lead after the 1^st and 2^nd place man clashed and then began to build a lead. As he explained "I saw what was happening and went into the lead. Dean Stoneman was in 2^nd place and I build up a good lead early on. This time the back-markers were good but I lost a lot of time due to a yellow flag situation. This let Stoneman close in and he was right on my tail going into the last lap but I was able to hold him, although he did set the fastest lap." However the win extends Lloyd’s Championship lead to 5 points. The next rounds are at Silverstone on 21/22^nd of July and Hwyel said"I’m looking forward to that as I go well at Silverstone." Before that Hwyel has another date at Silverstone when he getting a big boost as a special guest of the Renault F1 team at the forthcoming British Grand Prix test day. "I’ve got a special invitation as I’m leading the Formula Renault Championship, and we’ll be spending the day with the team in the paddock and pits, seeing how they do things. I’m really looking forward to it"
