The 2005 WSSCC/WRDA Dinner Dance and Awards Evening on Saturday 4^th February 2006 at The Fourcroft Hotel, Tenby was the usual glittering occassion with the Awards presentation following an excellent 4-course meal. Andrew Williams the 2005 Champion holds the Championship trophy aloft flanked by Lee David (2nd) and Adrian Chapman (3rd). After the now tradtional raffle/auction which raised over £700, the evening ended with laughter, music and dancing.

The 2005 Welsh Sports and Saloon Car Championship season had been another classic with race wins shared between several drivers but consistent finishing by the eventual champion Andrew Williams in Saloon Car Class C, saw him establish an early lead he was able to build into a commanding points total.  The Welsh Sports and Saloon Car Championship was now in its 15 year. Uniquely amongst club championship it holds a National title and has always been open to all drivers. You don’t have to be Welsh to join in. Virtually any sports and saloon car is eligible and there are young drivers like Lee David and even pensioners like Adrian Chapman who must be the oldest Class winner in the country!

 Race wins were spread around like never before and although 2000/01 Champion Terry Brown won the first round, Jeff Davies, Richard Rhozon, Graham Cole & Steve Griffiths all won but solid scoring and a string of mid season wins from Dave and his thunderous Stealth saw him take Class A. Late in the year Peter Williams & Tony Michael also won making it the most open series ever,

 However Andrew Williams driving a normally aspirated Ford Seirra Sapphire stamped his authority on his class early on and fortunately on the rare occasions when he failed to score, none of his main rivals could take advantage. Likewise in Class B, Lee David, who started the year in a Vtec Rover Gti established an early season lead in his class, although after having several big offs, he began to lose touch with Andrew and eventually finished the season in a different car, having to replace the Rover with a Honda CRX. Adrian Chapman took advantage of a lack of competitors in his class to rack up a lot of points.
