Welsh Trio of Jann, Matt & Seb set for GP3 finale in the
Gulf
Matt Parry - plenty of points
The final two races in the 2015 GP3
Series starts on Friday, 20th November when the penultimate
event of the championship takes place at the fabulous Sakhir
International Circuit in Bahrain which is running back-to-back,
with a visit to Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi following just seven
days later.
Last
time out in Sochi Jann Mardenborough bounced back after a brief
dip into GP2 , to back up a 5th place in race with
another podium visit in race 2 , scoring 20 points which meant
he was able to leap-frog fellow Welshman Matt Parry, who
scored some welcome points to with a 7th place in
race 1. There are only 3 points between Matt & Jann.

Meanwhile
Seb Morris has been working hard and narrowly missed out on
adding to his score, finishing an agonisingly place or 2 from
scoring more points on more than one occasion. However he was
clearly the fastest of the Status teams 3 entries throughout the
weekend, last time out in Russia, and with no testing
permitted before the regular pre-event practice session, Seb is
relishing the opportunity to compete on a truly level playing
field for the first time this year.
(left) Seb - ready to score again
“It’s been a trying year, a disappointing
year really – we could have had a few more points finishes but
things just haven’t worked out for us”, he commented, “I’m still
pushing forward though and it’d be nice to get into the top
eight in the first Bahrain race and try and get onto the front
of the reverse grid for race two. I’m really looking forward to
visiting Bahrain, it’s going to be the first track this year
where nobody else will have the advantage of having run there
before. There’s no testing either, so that should work in our
favour as we’ll start on a level playing field for the first
time really. We were fast out of the box during the last round
at Sochi, so hopefully we can do the same again and build from
there.”
Seb stepped up into GP3, after a string of
wins and top three championship finishes said ‘The aim is to
definitely end the season on a bit of a high and I’m confident
we can.”
Practice for the Bahrain event will take
place at 06.35 (UK time) on Thursday, 19th November, with
qualifying following at 09.40 (UK time). Race one of the weekend
is scheduled to start at 10.20 (UK time) on Friday, 20th
November, with race two taking place on Saturday, 21st November,
at 06.00 (UK time). Qualifying and both contests will, as ever,
be screened live on the Sky Sports F1 channel.
