Seb hopes to Czech in for the flight home with the Most points from a triple race weekend! by Rob Allender

Seb Morris is travelling to the Czech Republic for the penultimate rounds of the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup (NEC) at the Autodrom Most. The Most circuit in the Czech Republic is a popular stop over in the Formula Renault series, and Seb will be on a high after winning the last race at Assen in Holland by 8 seconds! With 3 races over the weekend there is a maximum of 90 points on offer and Sebs has his sights set on continuing his new-found momentum this weekend.

After a run of poor results following his debut NEC win at Silverstone, his season has been revitalised following a full chassis strip by Fortec Motorsport that revealed the issues that were causing the problems, and Seb was back to his best at Assen (left) with a memorable performance. “I’d like to think we have turned a corner! That win at Assen was what we needed, but this is racing, so you’re never really sure what can happen”, said Seb, “Formula Renault has been quite inconsistent this season. No one driver has been consistently at the front but hopefully I can break that chain and win again at the weekend! Most is a new track for me, I was very quick on the simulator so hopefully we can replicate that in real life when we get there later this week. I’d be satisfied with being on the podium, who wouldn’t, but I do want to win! We need to try and nail pole position in qualifying and then build from there – that would be the perfect scenario."

Ahead of rounds 12, 13 and 14 next weekend at Most, Seb is fifth in the championship standings only 2 points behind the driver in 4th place, 35 behind his Fortec team-mate Ben Barnicoat in 3rd place and within 39 points of the series leader who is currently Louis Deletraz. With a maximum of 90 points up for grabs, the battle for the title could alter dramatically over the course of the weekend! Free practice runs from Thursday to Friday 29th August!  Qualifing starts on Saturday with round 12 starting at 14.20 GMT. On Sunday 31st August round 13 starts at 08.30 GMT with round 14 starting at 14.40 GMT. Check http://necup.com for any live timing links or TV transmissions
