Matt's Germany agony

Matt Parry found the going a bit tough in  the latest round of the 2014 Formula Renault Eurocup on the Grand Prix circuit at the Nurburgring last weekend which was disappointing after getting on the podium in Moscow and following his 3rd place in race 1 with a 4th place in race 2.

The weekend started on a positive note, as Matt was in 7th position, but only 0.10 off pole! 'It was so close here in Nurburgring'

However race day was a  Eifel Mountains rain-fest. Matt confirmed ‘It was a difficult race! I was really fast in the wet, but our race ended when the driver I was overtaking made contact with the rear of my car! I was really disappointed as we were on for a great scoring position.’  There was more disappointment in race 2 as he could only manage 14th place and failed to add to his points score.  ‘It was an opportunity missed; our car was fast, but it wasn't meant to be. Issues with the car in Race 2  meant I wasn't able to make up more positions. Setting the second fastest lap was at least something positive!

Matt stays in 10th in the overall standings and is the leading British driver, but is now only 1 point in front of  Italain driver Ignazio D'Agosto!  The championship is lead by Dutch driver Nyck De Vries.
