WRDA member and multiple
Championship and award winner Seb Morris will arrive at Brands
Hatch Grand Prix Circuit in Kent this coming weekend, 27th/28th
July, determined to secure his elusive first victory in the BRDC
Formula 4 Championship as the second half of the category’s
inaugural season gets underway.
Seb from Marford near Wrexham. who
is still only 17, has a list of titles as long as your arm, and
apart from a string of Kart titles has already won the Ginetta
Junior, Ginetta Winter series and the Protyre Formula Renault
Winter Series in his young career. Finishing 3rd in
last years Protyre Formula Renault when he could have won it, is
making him more determined to clinch the BRDC F4 title if he
possibly can.
At Oulton Park, last time out Seb (photo left) showed great
car control to keep the car on track as his rear tryes lost
grip, and then showed great determination to keep his rivals
behind and move closer the top of the points standings!
With five podiums to his credit so
far, Seb goes into the fifth race meeting of the F4 season third
in the driver standings and within just 14 points of the series
lead! Morris been a very consistent finisher and a title threat
from the opening weekend of the season where he actually topped
the points table after the first three rounds.
Having won on his last race on the
Grand Prix circuit in 2012 Seb is determined to battle for more
podiums and clinch a race win.
“I’m really looking forward to
going back to the Grand Prix circuit at Brands. I won there in
Formula Renault last year and it’d be great to take my first
Formula 4 win there too. It’s been a challenging season so far,
we started on the back-foot without much in the way of testing
and we’ve had some problems getting the tyres switched on as
well. Taking all of that into account though, we’re still in the
championship top three and not far away from the lead which is a
strong position to be in at the halfway point of the season.
Since the last races at Seb’s
‘home’ track, Oulton Park, just over a fortnight ago, Seb his
dad Phillip and Sebs best mate Matt Groome, has completed a
gruelling 715 mile cycle ride around the circumference of Wales
to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s
Charity.
“We had an amazing time during the cycle
ride, it was unbelievably challenging – especially in such hot
weather – but a real achievement. On behalf of my dad and Matt,
we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated money
to Great Ormond Street. We’re all hugely grateful and delighted
we could do our bit for such an amazing charity.” The total
raised so far is almost £1,200 and anyone who would like to make
a post-cycle ride donation to this most worthwhile of causes is
welcome to visit
