Andy looks forward to racing
in front of home crowd
WRDA member
Andy Meyrick is heading
to his home round of the
Blancpain Endurance Series
at Silverstone this weekend
(1/2 June) in the Gulf
Racing McLaren 12C GT3.
Meyrick returns to his GT
campaign fresh from his
American Le Mans Series
podium at Laguna Seca, where
he finished third in the
front-running P1 class in
the DeltaWing.
This weekend the 27-year old
Swansea born driver (now
living in Chester) will once
again race alongside Gulf
Racing team-mate and
co-owner Mike Wainwright in
the three-hour race, which
takes place on Silverstone’s
Grand Prix circuit.
“Silverstone is a fantastic
circuit and to be racing in
one of the most-competitive
GT3 championships in the
world here is really
exciting,” comments Andy.
“Not only is it great to be
competing in front of the
BRDC, but we have invited
some guests from McLaren
Manchester to join us
following an event we held
there last week.”
At the event – An Evening
with Gulf Racing – which was
hosted by Andy and had 30 of
McLaren Manchester’s
potential customers in
attendance, Andy explained
how the McLaren 12C GT3 is
the racing version of the
road-going supercar while
showing them the race
prepared 3.8-litre V8
twin-turbo Gulf Racing
charger.
“I’m looking forward to
getting back behind the
wheel of the McLaren 12C
GT3. It’s a fantastic car,
which we tested at
Silverstone earlier this
year – it’ll be interesting
to see how competitive it is
here with such a strong grid
alongside us. ”
The Silverstone round of the
Blancpain Endurance Series
