Andy racks up the points at Silverstone
Race two later in
the day took place in dry but cloudy conditions, and Andy settled into 8th place
and profited when James Sutton went into the pits after flat spotting his tyres,
and then was moved up to 6th place in the results, after Rory Butcher was given a 5 second
penalty after running so wide in several places that he was deemed to have left
the track! Even so Andy had to make a robust defence of his place at times and
commented afterwards: “It was a solid weekend, despite our issue in qualifying,
and we went forward in both races which is the main thing. In reality,
qualifying dictated the results of the weekend which made it difficult from then
on. It was difficult to overtake, given how close everything was, but you have
to be satisfied with what you have – two finishes with points is good. I’m now
looking forward to going to Brands Hatch and the Grand Prix circuit – it’s a
mega place to race.”
The final round of the Porsche Carrera Cup will be at
Brands Hatch in Kent on 20th/21st October.
