Andy races to Knockhill

WRDA member Andy Meyrick is in Scotland for the latest rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB races this weekend. 

Wearing the colours of Danish luxury specs makers Lindberg, Andy will be racing a Team Parker Racing-prepared Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the Pro category of the series and he had his baptism in the series at Snetterton 2 weeks ago when he scored a podium and fourth place finish on his debut in the highly competitive series, and is already halfway up the points table! By adding the rear-engined rear wheel drive Porsche 911 marque to his c.v, it means Andy must now have driven virtually every combination of sports car engine & drive configurataion ever devised, and he confirmed "Yes there has certainly been a lot of variety! Actually Porsche 911s are a bit of a specialists car and they are a lot of good specialists in the series, so I was well pleased to get a 3rd and 4th in my first two races.  I've never been to Knockhill before so that will be a new experience too"  .

Having seen the BTCC cars at Knockhill before it appears that they spend almost as much time off the circit as on it, so Andy, not known for jumping the kerbs, may have to adopt yet another new driving technique too!

The  Porsche Carrera Cup GB supports the BTCC and the races will have live television coverage on ITV4 on this Sunday 26/8/12
