Seb Morris - History Maker! Seb Morris our newest WRDA member, has already made history after he took two victories and a second place from four races around the rain-lashed Pembrey Circuit track in November 2010 to become the youngest driver ever to lift the Ginetta Junior Winter Championship at the tender age of 14! In a car prepared by Hathersage-based Hillspeed, Seb delivered in style. "Seb did a fantastic job" said Hillspeed team principal Richard Ollerenshaw, "Hes made history by winning the title at such a young age and it proves the talent weve always known hes had. Seb has a huge future in motorsport we cant wait now for next season." Seb, who lives in Marford, Wrexham and is backed by Liberty Properties Plc, went into the last of the four races tied for the lead in the championship. He grabbed the lead on the opening lap from pole-sitter Adam Bonham and built a cushion of 1.6 seconds prior to the safety car being deployed. When the race resumed on lap 11 after a lengthy cautionary period, he continued to dominate before a stoppage was declared on lap 12 meaning he took the title with his second win of the weekend. Sebs first ever victory in cars came the day before, as he won the first race from third on the grid. Chris Ramsey, the headmaster of Kings School where he is a student, said: "Seb is a hardworking pupil who juggles the demands of the school with his passion for motorsport. We are delighted with his achievements." Seb picks up the Ginnetta Junior Winter Championship trohpy from Ginetta boss Lawrence Tomlinson. You know what you are getting old when the winning drivers get younger! lets hope there is plenty more wins to come for Seb for many years in the future. |
