Andy gets ready to tame the Nordschleife
In a busy autumn
WRDA member Andy Meyrick has quailified to drive in the 2012 24 hour race at the legendary
Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany after a storming drive in the 4 hour VLN Championship race on Saturday 29th October.
Driving Smurf, the teams Aston Martin
Vantage GT4 car, from a lowly grid position, Andy made a storming start to the 4 hour
race, overtaking car after car to put the V12 car into the GT4 Class lead before handing
over to his team mates. Meyrick then took over for the final few laps, bringing the car
home 28th out of a massive 170 car grid and 2nd in class. Having
done 2 races over the 15.2 mile circuit, Meyrick has now qualified to drive in the
gruelling 24 hour race over the same, 77 corner circuit, in May 2012. It was not a
bad weekend. Its an incredible circuit and with 170 entries it gets quite busy, but
I really enjoyed myself. To be able to race somewhere like the Nurburgring and get on the
podium, you cant really ask for much more
