Round 22 of the MSA British Formula Ford Championship -Brands Hatch 20th
September
WRDA member Alex Jones from Anglesey, put in a fighting drive to score some hard earned
points in the latest round of the 2009 MSA British Formula Ford Championship on its
return to Brands Hatch, but this time on the Grand Prix circuit. Jones driving a Spectrum
car explained "We had a good session in practice and I was hoping for a podium
finish, but in the race I was hit from behind during a safety car period. It damaged my
rear suspension, and dropped me back to 17th!" In one of the best drives
of his career he clawed his way back up to 9th despite a poorly handing car,
"It was a tough weekend"
Even so the points scored have lifted Jones up to 13th in the points standing with 154 points, just behind Josh Hill, the son of the 1996 F1 World Champion Damon Hill. Final rounds of the 2009 MSA British Formula Ford Championship are at Castle Combe in Wiltshire in October.
