Welsh drivers dominate F3 National Class test at Croft

WRDA members Andy Meyrick & Hywel Lloyd dominated theNational Class times in the recent 2 day test at Croft in preparation for the next round of the British F3 Championship on the 27th April. Andy was quickest on Wednesday with Hywel 3rd, with the positions reversed on Thursday.

Andy, and the Carlin team concentrated on race day set up on Thursday after heading the times sheets on Wednesday. 'We tried some new parts, and did some race distance runs' Andy has also been boosted by being accepted on the MSA Race Elite Scheme. 'Thats really good news. They give you a lots of tution including sport psychology, diet and nutrition, sponsorship and media and interview training'

Hywel also had a big boost after he finished top of the timesheets  on Thursday with a superb time, only 6/10ths slower that the International Class pace setter Jamie Algueruari.

"It was a really good 2 days, we made lots of improvements to the car, I improved some of my lines, and it all added up to a big improvement. We were quickest on Wednesday morning but then we tried to concentrate on the race set up. We seemed to find a good balance, so towards the end of Thursday we decided to put some new tyres on and see what happened. The time came up after only 5 laps. Actually it was a bit of a shock, but a pleasant one! Now we need to do it for the race."   In the meantime HTV has jumped on the bandwagon, featuring Hywel in their news last week, and the producers of the F3 coverage have promised to give the National Class more coverage after only giving Andy Meyrick & the National Class the briefest of coverage in the first transmissions .
